PROF. ONGERI IS A POLITICAL CONMAN.

jubilee point-man. He was expected to deliver substantial votes from the assumed Cord stronghold to the Jubilee basket but he terribly failed. not only did the Prof fail to deliver votes for Jubilee but also failed to muscle the Senatorial seat for himself which was eventually won by Hon. Chris Obure who has since defected to Jubilee and going for Kisii gubernatorial seat on the aforementioned ticket.

I remember in one function in Nyansiongo where he was pleaading for people to vote for Jubilee and he even requested them to "sikiza kwa masikini" meaning listen in poverty rather than listen carefully. Now, where did the rain start beating Prof. Ongeri?
 
Consider this: How many people lost the elections in Jubilee ticket and they never got any offer from the government? Ongeri is not one of them. You can see how he and Mwakwere underappreciated the generosity of the president. I may even thank that the too are likely have been locking the boat from inside especially in matters touching on the government that they were working for and which they are likely to start castigating.

When he lost the senatorial seat to Hon. Obure, he was seen by many as being past his best. He was being written off in every corner. But, His Excellence the President Uhuru Kenyatta overlooked his shortcomings and failures to deliver the Kisii votes. Remember Lumumba and Ongeri were flying the Jubilee flag in Kisii, and they both failed! Anyway, they have since gone to the losing side.

Prof Ongeri was appointed a permanent representative to UN-HABITAT, You can call it a lucrative Ambassadorial post/job. He was being kept afloat by the President by discouraging idleness in the good professor. Now he has left the President in the eleventh hour to join ODM, he is likely to start complaining how bad the government his. Is that not companionship, political scavenging and pretense of the highest order? If it was as bad as he might make it look, why did he wait for so long to defect and resign from UN-HABITAT? I think it is the fact that when when one is full, the food loses its taste. 

I qualify this to backbiting, backstabbing politics of betrayal, typical opportunism, malicious politics and may be a away of settling political vendettas through proxy. As he put it when he was being received in to the leaking opposition house "Inche na mwane tuachire ODM" loosely translated as "me and my house have gone to ODM". Let us wait and see him retire from politics dishonorably when the politics of convenience backfires.

For now the fact is that Prof has been conning The Government , The president and The Jubilee coalition while his democratic right remains notwithstanding.

However, the main villain warned them of  of looking down upon an idiot who has the tendency of showing up when needed. He turned out to save day. The worst mistake which worked against the villain's camp was prejudice. As the anecdote above, NASA has had the tendency of writing Jubilee off in Gisii politics to the point that they felt in a comfort zone.
