ANTHONY KIBAGENDI MAKES JOASH MAANGI'S STINT IN JUBILEE LOOK USELESS AND HE IS NOT BEING MISSED..
By Haron Ototo
Before turning back to his vomit, Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi earned a name as the most important pillar in Jubilee as far as Gusii Politics is concerned. He was thought taunted to be one of the best mobilizers, strategist and political managers from Gusii. Everyone trembled in his name's mention even from the ODM team which pretended not to care much about him.

In fact, some ODM members were trying to water down his influence and called him names such as a tumbocrat or an empty shell. In away they believed that his departure at the time was insignificance and he was to be easily replaced when the time of shopping for Gov. Ongwae's running mate. Wait! They remained with a rotten egg in their face when they went back and begged him to run with Ongwae. By that time (going back to ODM) he has lost trust with his current team and I think because they missed a replacement on matters of strategy and regional balance, otherwise...
When he (Maangi) left us in Jubilee, his significance was over hyped, overstated and over rated. His shoes was thought to be the biggest to be filled by any politician from Gusii region and hence an artificial gap was created. We lacked mobilization, we lacked strategies and in a way it felt like our train had stalled. Most Jubilee stalwarts had turned selfish and self centered, they had resolved to work for themselves and themselves alone in the expense of the party until ANTHONY KIBAGENDI happened.
Tony as he is commonly known does not need introduction on what he had been doing in the other side of the political divide. He needs no shreds of introduction on matters of political mobilization, strategic planning and strategic management so long as he is left to follow his heart. Give Kibagendi freedom and trust, you wont regret it. He saw a gap in Jubilee, He touched it to ensure it is real and he effortlessy filled the gap and Jubilee is reaping rewards handsomely.
To highlight on Tony's activities which have worked well with Jubilee. We look at the number of youth meeting he has organized to drum support for Jubilee in the Gusii region which was thought to be an opposition zone. He has also organized and participated in major roadshows and strategic meeting for the better good of the party and he his no stopping anytime soon until Uhuru is the President for a second term, Obure is the second Governor of Kisii County and Ongwae is a citizen of the great Kisii County. I stand with him and We (We means Me and Kibagendi) will see that it comes to pass.
However, his coming to Jubilee ha rubbed some quarters the wrong way. In such quarters there is a mutual feeling that he has exposed some of the shortcomings and weakness and or laziness in working for the Tuko Pamoja party. Infact the selfish ones feel like it could have been better if he never showed up. That not withstanding, the true Jubilee supporters wish him well and belief that he is God sent and we are better off with Kibagendi than Maangi. He has more than filled the presumably larger boots left by Maangi and we are not missing him as he prepares to go home with his boss Ongwae.
Tony, you are truly an asset to Jubilee and NASA's loss is our gain. Keep the spirit and the fire burning as we look forward to sweeping Kisii County.
