THE YOUTHFUL ESSAU ELLY OKELLO: FOR MP IN NYATIKE CONSTITUENCY

Many a times, the youth who happen to be the majority in a society are being refereed to as leaders of tomorrow. It sometimes counts for nothing whether the youth have achieved something or not, as long as you look youthful you have to wait for tomorrow. But now things are looking to change, the youth are no taking no chances and they are ready and willing to join the elite in the politics of their respectful areas of representation. To most of them, tomorrow is here and is now.

One such young mind who has joined the race of political representation is Essau Elly Okello from Nyatike Constituency in Migori County. Essau who has been working with Non-Governmental organizations both within and outside his Nyatike constituency was inspired to join the race for the coveted member of parliament in the forthcoming general election due to the little or no development at all in his constituency. He is running for the seat on a Ford Kenya ticket, a sister party in the NASA fraternity which is in full support of Raila Kalonzo Presidential Ticket.

He also believes that the roads in Nyatike Constituency are in deplorable condition, youth unemployment rate is unreal and on the rise, their is a clear mismanagement of natural resources. For instance, Nyatike is one of the few areas who happen to have precious resources like Gold. He feels like the whole issue surrounding gold mining has nothing to be desired.

In his capacity as an NGO worker, Mr Okello has achieved a lot. He has helped construct a water borehole in Nyandema Secondary School, He has supplied water tanks and green houses to youth and women groups in his constituency, he is supporting orphans and the vulnerable children. For instance Okello is supporting need children in St. Paul Children Home. Also, Amani Women Group are one of the beneficiaries of Okello's activities.

On what he will do to help the great people of the great Nyatike Constituency, Okello plans to to collaborate with his international relations and investors to put up a three Billion coffee factory in the constituency. He understands that such an initiative will enable the cultivation of over 24,000 hectares of land which in return will help in upping the livelihood of the people.

He also plans to initiate a Gold processing plant where artisan miners will be able to process their gold in for better returns. in addition, he will make sure that 10 kilometers of road are done every financial year.  On matters unemployment, all the above undertakings will help in creating over 3,000 jobs for the local people.

Since he is a youth and he is running against heavyweights like the Incumbent MP Edick Anyanga of ODM and Fredrick Ogenga an Independent candidate, Okello is banking on the support of his people and his development blueprints in winning the seat come August 8th 2017. He says, "Let the people of Nyatike meke their choice and I hope they are going to elect me to represent the in Parliament". When asked about his suport for "Baba", Okello says, "I respect Baba and I hope he is going to win the President. I fully support him, he is the right person for the president". It is also not clear whether the incumbent Anyanga will succeed in defending his seat since his ODM nomination is being challenged.

However, the main villain warned them of  of looking down upon an idiot who has the tendency of showing up when needed. He turned out to save day. The worst mistake which worked against the villain's camp was prejudice. As the anecdote above, NASA has had the tendency of writing Jubilee off in Gisii politics to the point that they felt in a comfort zone. Now as things look, the damage has already been done and the worst is yet to come and NASA have been caught off guard not once, not twice but many times.
